Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hard surfaces
A resurgent Medvedev won his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a former world number one, has experienced a difficult season, achieving just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
His varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with long-time coach Cervara.
Currently working with Johansson and his other coach, he has gradually improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive victory over opponent Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's first championship following the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface after that period of the previous year.
Victory also means he has secured 21 victories at 21 distinct events.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my both daughters together, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my child her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
Medvedev's counter-punching play style and frequent reactions on the tennis court had caused commentators to doubt if his ability to perform at the elite level was finished.
Yet the player has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and compete assertively, reinforced by an better serve.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the first set against the tricky opponent, taking 4 of the final five games to take the lead.
The pair exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to create a third set.
Moutet saved four early-game opportunities in a tight final set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Appropriately, the winner secured victory with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent incapable to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
